Notes  All ancestors before Charles are sketchy, they may or may not be accurate but I am including them purely as a way to keep track and possibly make a connection someday by myself or another researcher. It does make for interesting reading.
Charles' parents are speculated to have been Rowland and Tabitha Tankersley, but this is debatable according to Tankersley family researchers. It is possible, yet questionable, that Charles's first wife was Sarah Pullen. By 1763, he was in North Carolina, where he was on the Cranville County tax list. He was living in northern South Carolina when the war broke out. The Revolutionary War Pensions Files Show Charles served throughout the Revolutionary War. According to Around 1786, he married Catherine Grant in Union District, S. Carolina. Abo ut 1819, they moved to Habersham County, Georgia from the king George/Caroline County area.
